Fish Creek Park is one of North America's Largest Urban Parks. It runs along the southern part of the city from Queensland in the East to Woodbine in the West.
Chestermere Lake is a 750 acre lake that you can waterski, sail, fish and swim in. In the winter you can snowmobile, x-country ski and ice fish there. Chestermere is Calgary's closest neighbour with only 5 miles between the city limit and the town of Chestermere.

Chaparral residents enjoy being a part of a master-planned neighbourhood that has provided schools, day-care facilities, and neighbourhood shopping. In 1997 a public transit route was established. Lake Chaparral is also located close to large regional shopping centres and Fish Creek Park, and construction of a small, community commercial area is currently underway which will provide many convenient services for residents. Downtown Calgary is easily accessed by Deerfoot Trail and Macleod Trail.
